Cross kidz: we will tell the next generation

At The Cross Church, Cross Kidz is a place where children can discover the love of Jesus, build friendships, and grow in their faith. Through energetic worship, engaging Bible lessons, memory verses, and fun activities, we help kids understand God’s Word and apply it to everyday life. We teach children that God created them, loves them, and invites them into a personal relationship with Jesus. Led by our Children’s Ministry Director, Amanda Ridgeley, our team is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels valued and included. We partner with parents to encourage a foundation of faith that continues beyond Sunday mornings. Our heart is to see every child know Jesus, love His Word, and grow in confidence as they follow Him.

your first visit to cross kidz

We can’t wait to welcome your family! Cross Kidz offers loving care and fun Bible activities for children from nursery through fifth grade. Stop by our check-in area on the main level between 10:45 and 11:20 AM, share any allergies or special needs, and receive your child’s name tag and pickup receipt. We strongly encourage checking in before 11:00 AM so your children don’t miss Kidz Praise Live from 11:05–11:20 AM, featuring energetic worship and fun dances with motions! Our team will help your children get settled for a morning of learning and making friends.

For safety, only volunteers who have completed background checks may enter the ministry rooms, and an adult parent or guardian must present the pickup receipt at pickup. Preschool and elementary pickup is in front of the stage; infants and toddlers are picked up at their room doors. If you arrive after 11:20 AM, your children are welcome to join you for worship in the chapel.

Our volunteers: Helping kids know jesus

Our Cross Kidz volunteers serve with a heart for Jesus and a love for children. Through fun worship, age-appropriate Bible lessons, and personal encouragement, they help children from nursery through fifth grade discover God’s love. Our team is committed to creating a welcoming environment that supports each child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Every smile, lesson, and act of kindness is an opportunity to help a child feel seen, valued, and loved. Together, we partner with families to help the next generation know Jesus and grow in their faith.

Help the next generation know Jesus and experience His love! We’d love to welcome you to the Cross Kidz team and help you discover a meaningful place to serve.

To get started, complete a Children’s Ministry Volunteer Application through our church website or request one from Amanda Ridgeley, our Children’s Ministry Director. Be sure to include your current phone number, then submit your application online, directly to Amanda, or by email at mailto:amanda@thecrossfl.org.

Before serving, volunteers must have their application approved and complete a background check that is reviewed and approved by a pastor. Background checks are renewed annually. You’ll also meet with Amanda or our Family Pastor to share your testimony, review ministry policies, and learn about lessons, scheduling, and volunteer expectations. We’ll provide a ministry shirt and name tag for you to wear while serving.

Who can serve?

Adults: Serve with any age group.

Students in grades 7–8: Serve with toddlers or in the Cross Littles classroom for ages 4–5.

Students in grades 9–12: Serve with any age group.
