Project Joy 2024

This holiday season at The Cross Church our mission is to bring joy and share the love of Christ to others in need! Thus, we are launching three different outreaches called Project Joy. The three outreaches include; Harvest Of Hope, Operation Christmas Child, & Angel Tree.

If you want to serve in any of these, click the button below. If you have any questions, email MJ Brown. More details on what each outreach offers can also be found below. Thank you for your willingness to serve.

harvest of hope

Harvest Of Hope is an amazing opportunity to give to families in need this Thanksgiving season!

Our goal is to collect donated food items, package it all, and deliver these bags to families in need of a Thanksgiving meal.

Starting this Sunday, and every Sunday & Wednesday night service, until November 20th, you can bring in any of the food items listed below to donate towards this outreach. Again, the final date to donate will be November 20th.

Once all food items have been donated/collected, we will begin to organize/pack the bags. This will take place on November 21st and will be known as PACKING DAY!

Then, comes the final and biggest step to this outreach, DELIVER DAY, on Saturday, November 23rd. We will get groups of about 4 to travel together, distribute the meals, get to know the families, invite them to church and pray for them.

ANGEL TREE

Angel Tree is our second Christmas outreach where our church can support an incarcerated parent that is unable to get their child a gift for Christmas. The opportunity we have is to serve, share Christ’s love, and share the parent’s love through buying, wrapping, and distributing a gift in the parent’s name. Wondering how this works and what is required to help?

Check out the steps below!

- The incarcerated parent signs up their kid(s) to receive a gift and writes a personal note.

- Prison Fellowship then sends it out to a partnering church nearby.

- Starting October 20th until all tags are gone, a church member can

pick up a tag with the child’s information.

- Then the church member will go buy a gift for that child that is no less than $25 and NO MORE THAN $35.

- The church member will wrap the gift.

- On Saturday, December 21st we will all meet at the church to distribute the gifts.

What is Operation Christmas Child?

  Learn More

Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way.

For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind has collected and delivered more than 220 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 170 countries and territories.

Fill a shoebox and drop them off at church during the National Collection week, November 18th - 25th, 2024 and we’ll make sure they get delivered to a drop-off location.
